BC Housing is proposing to build a new supportive housing development of “up to 50 units” on a currently vacant .427 acre lot at 260 White Road, off Jubilee Street in Duncan.
To give some idea of the scale of this proposed development, here is an article about a newly opened 21 unit supportive housing development called Spaken House on the former Blanshard School playground at 833 Hillside Avenue in Victoria.

Note that Spaken House is a three story building to house 21 units of supportive housing.
BC Housing proposes to build a new supportive housing development of “up to 50 units” on a currently vacant .427 acre lot at 260 White Road, off Jubilee Street in Duncan. We think 50 units is totally out of scale for the available site at 260 White Road.

Note that White Road is a narrow dead end street that was not designed or intended to handle the delivery truck traffic that would be required by a supportive housing development of “up to 50 units”.
We think the proposal to build “up to 50 units” of supportive housing at 260 White Road in Duncan is totally out of scale with the neighbourhood.
I completely agree with you. Duncan council has declared war on a whole neighbourhood. Every tree on that lot will have to come down. Asking one small neighbourhood to accept that amount of density for ANYBODY is absolutely ridiculous.
Shame on you, Duncan council.
